I got one with the boat I bought and no user manual. The upper head with extender tiller attached is supposed to tilt up. Can't figure it out. Don't want to force it. Can someone tell me how to release it ?

Well, I figured it out. Took the head off and checked out the internals. IT DOES NOT TILT ! darn ! Only thing inside the head was electronic and cradl for tiller switch.

since I'm here does anyone know the proper way to adjust how deep into the water the prop needs to go ( how deep)? How do you adjust the resistance clamp? Sometimes when it turn it, the 2 clamps bind on each other. Especially when I want to tilt the prop out of the water.

There is no magic number for how deep the prop goes into the water. Obviously if the prop pops out of the water in wavy conditions it is not deep enough. Depth is adjustable by loosening the clamp and lowering the motor. You can't go too deep because it simply doesn't matter unless you fish shallow water.
