Minn Kota Very Noisy

Hope someone can advise here. Took my electric motor out this last weekend and it was very noisy, rough/knocking sounds etc. Certain speeds it is worse, I took the bottom end apart hoping to find some answers but only found that one of the large magnets around the armature is loose, I am wondering if this is the culprate? Are these not supposed to be rigidly fastened? If this is not the factor, any suggestions as to what it may be? Thank you in advance for replies. Kevin

The magnets are to be bonded onto the housing. What is happening is that the loose magnet is banging on the other magnet inside the housing. This will eventually knock the other one loose and the motor will stop working altogether. Also the loose magnet has to be causing wear on the armature. When this happened to me I bought a new motor. Cost of repair parts did not justify fixing up the old one.
