I have a MinnKota PowerDrive v1 70PD 24v Trolling Motor.
I have never had any problems until last weekend, someone had stepped on the foot control and turned on the "Always On" switch, I don't believe it was on for more than a minute or two, but I don't know for 100%.
Anyway, now when I step on the pedal you hear "Click" as always, but the shaft doesn't spin. the motor still turns left and right.
I took the lower unit apart, there's nothing in there but the armature/brushes and bearings. the bearings all spun freely, and the brushes were plenty thick. So I guess it's possible the armature burned up, but I there was no smoke or anything which is typical of armature's burning up.
If there is electronics or something somewhere in the unit, I'm assuming they are either in the head of the trolling motor or the base somewhere!?
Maybe there's a fuse or something?
I can take it to a MinnKota service center, but Honestly if it's going to cost me more than $150, I'll just buy a new one.
