Hey everybody i got a 2 year old or so maxxum 74lb thrust bow mounted on my skeeter, cable foot control etc. when i have it on 30 and i go to momentarily turn it on, then let go the the shaft like shakes, not the base but the shaft and upper part. it is kind of hard to explain but it is really annoying when your trying to be quite in the water. i just dont get it i think that it should be more solid and not move when you let go of the switch. It is worse when you put it on 80 or 100. i know it will probably move a little when it is on 100 but on 30 it shouldnt shake like it does. i am wondering if there is anything i can do to fix it. if that made any sense to anyone thanks for the replys.

Check the prop. If it's beat up, has a blade tip missing, or simply a bad prop, it will shake. Try a three blade.

Meant to add that you should check the motor shaft run-out. Hold a pencil or other object tightly to the motor housing so the tip just barely touches the prop tip. Rotate the prop to see if the other tip is in the same position. If not, either the prop mounting hole is crooked or the motor shaft is bent.

Also, take the prop off and make sure the pin itrides on isn't bent and installed properly.

An uneducated opinion here... Possibly cavitating causeing the top to shake? mine made growling noises when it was too close to the surface and started cavitating. Course mine is an older and much smaller motor.
