hello, replaced the impeller on a blueband 25 hp ,1980,and there is a small oil slick permantly around the lower leg area ,,where the drive shaft comes out from the impeller housing ,is there only the large rubber grommet ,i take it there is no seal of any type between the lower leg and the upper leg ,or can bad seals on the oil plugs cause asuch a leak,,sorry to say havent checked if the oil is milky yet ,but the o ring on the gears hasnt showed any signs of leakage,,thanks tony

Re: minor oil slick

The driveshaft seal in the unit is below the w/pump houslng. so it could be bad you need to check the gear lube and get back.

Re: minor oil slick

thanks for the reply ,,would this be the part :26-99325 OIL SEAL ,also is there another seal on top of the impeller housing where the drive shaft comes out ,because the rubber tubbing that sitson the drive shaft where it comes out of the housing doesnt seem a tight fit
