I found a guy selling a 14' semi-v aluminum mirror brand fishing boat. It has a custom interior and built in lights. It comes with a 40 lb thrust trolling motor (dont know brand) brand new marine battery, and he said it was the largest they had. It also comes witha fish finder. It also comes with paddles, fire extinguisher, stuff I already have, etc. He told me it has some type of system that uses water to balance or stabilize the boat. I haven't heard anything about this.

I told him he can keep the motor and trailier, because I already have one of each. My 9.9 Nissan should be great on this boat. He is wanting $1000 for it. He also told me it was a very tough and well made boat. I need an opinion from someone that knows more about boats than I do. I thought about offering him $800 cash. What do you all think? Titles and tags are also current.

Sounds fishy to me. sounds overpriced too.

What motor is he offering , and what is the trailer like?

Offer just $400 for the hull alone.

Don't be afraid to walk away, don't let spring fever get you. :)

Re: Mirror boat?

I would certainly ensure this is a MirroCraft -- not Mirror which is a brand I am not familiar with. I am however familiar with MirroCraft as we have one in the family. Just what constitutes a "custom interior" is also debatable. Since he wants a grand and you are willing to leave a motor and trailer behind sounds like a mistake. Sell the trailer and the motor which should easily gain back the 200 bucks and more. Make darned sure he can produce a current title for the trailer as well as the boat and motor if one is required in your state.

Re: Mirror boat?

I had a 14' alum semi-V Mirror-Craft alum boat back in probably 1970. I liked it because it had high sides and a wide beam. Very comfortable on the windy Texas lakes. Wound up putting a vintage Merc Mark 30 on it with remote controls and steering, put a trolling motor up front, did a little alum welding to put in a floor up front and it made a very nice bass boat for high timber water that I used to fish and covering the rough water that it took to get from the launch to the "fishin hole". That combination worked very well and the Merc was perfect......if it only had power tilt!!!!!!

Sold it because at the time I had it and a ski boat and sold both to buy a FG BB because the family decided it was tired of water sports........but I wasn't.

Good boat.

1978 14 ft v bottom mirror aluminum with 1983 evinrude 9.9-super neat trailer with tear drop fenders and new tires ,new 40lb trolling motor and battery, custom interior really neat boat extra heavy duty boat must have been built up north, great fishing boat ,I just bought a bigger one will post pictures when I figure out how to,can send pic's on phone any ?? call Matt at ***-**** will trade on nice pop up or light tt trailer would pay differance if needed.thank;s matt, have both titles and tags are current
He was wanting $1500 for the whole setup.

I was going to take the boat, new marine battery (he said the largest they had), trolling motor, and fish finder. Plus it came with paddles and other accesories that I already have. He could sell that motor alone for $5-$600 I'm guessing. He still wanted $1000. I may offer $400-$500 for the boat only. He was also supposed to send pictures to my phone, but he never did. That kinda makes me wonder.
