Miss in '95 200 Johnson Ocean Runner

Mechanic taking cursory look has not found cause, and says he has to rebuild many OMC engines of this vintage. The miss is most noticable at idle, but is there the whole time. It seems like it's running on 5 3/4 cylinders. The motor has been well cared for and has approx. 600 hours on it. Thanks in advance,<br />-Nick

I would start with a compression test, then spark test. You will need to bypass Quick Start to spark test on the run sensors.
