Guys I've been working on a 74 mercury 650. After having to do some repairs on the trigger and other wiring I started to put things back together this afternoon. However, one thing has caught my eye that may make things a little difficult for me. This motor seems to be missing the timing marks on the flywheel. From what I can tell from other folks there should have been some sort of sticker or something attached to the flywheel indicating timing. I can see where maybe a plate or something was attached to the flywheel at some point as I'm looking a spot where possibly some sort of rivets may have been holding onto a plate at one time. Anyways I've looked all over the flywheel and I'm not seeing anything stamped into the flywheel indicating a timing mark.
Any suggested in locating timing marks or on timing would be helpful.
