I have a tank full of gas mixed with quicksilver. I would like to switch to a synthetic oil - Could I add synthetic oil to the tank when I add more gas??? I will still have some of the old mixture in the tank?? thanks

As long as they're both TCW-3 oil, they will mix just fine. (that's part of the requirements for an oil to become TWC-3 certified)

No problem.... Just mix it properly with the added gas....

You won't see the full benefit of running a synthetic until the diluted mixture is used up though.

even better, try this..

use up all your regular oil and then "decarb" the snot out of your motor real good with 1 can of deep creep per cylinder and then replace your plugs(with new ones)... then after that is done, switch over to synthetic, and also switch your lower unit to synthetic also at same time, but make sure you do this with brand new fresh gass, you should see a differewnce right away

m ikey

That's what I did and there was noticable improvement.

Thanks for all the help . I plan on going totally synthetic. Even the fabric I wear. This may be a dumb question but - what differences will I notice??

Better speed, less smoke, better gas mileage...

All of these things will be really small though...

any improvment is a good improvment, and i think you know , zmoz, with my big inline 6 , ill take all i can get.

motor will run smoother, be quiter, less vibration, better throttle response, less smoke, less wear on your internals such as bearing, cylinderwalls and less carbon build up on your rings.....

it makes your motor as close to new as you can get without rebuilding it with new parts!

But there's something nostalgic 'bout that smell of burning outboard fuel. 'Specially the 24:1.

I may stand corrected, but I beleive that Synergyn, Klotz 50:1, Cam2, and of course Pennzoil products. Im sure there must be others.
