Mk 78 Flywheel Removal

I have a mercury mark 78 which I have not long purchased. The timing belt is in pretty bad shape so I need to remove the flywheel to get the new belt on.....and can not get the thing to budge for the life of me. Apart from some advise or tips on removing the flywheel is there anything else I need to know about replacing the timing belt?

Moved this to a new thread out of a very old inactive thread.

You need a flywheel puller. Not sure which one fits your Mark 78.
