Model # ?? 1972 Evinrude 18hp

My research for my 1972 Evinrude 18hp shows 2 model #'s, 18202R and 18203R. Can anyone tell me the difference?

Long shaft... Short shaft.

Ok great. So 18203r is the short shaft, right?

I would assume that the lowest number is the shorter of the two 18202. That's the way it has always been thru the ages.

Ok sorry. I read ur reply as if it was in order respectively with the two model #'s in my post.
