Greetings,<br /><br />My neighbore has model 55 87R Evinrude. We think it is a 1968 model. It has the electric shift and it will not shift into neutral or reverse. Last year a local wrench put a swicth in the control, but it did not fix the problem. Said nothing he could do to fix it ($165.00). Another wrench tore the lower unit down and said all seemed to be fine, but it still will not shift to anything but forward.
