1971, as indicated by the 71 in the model number. For only about 10 years did Johnson have this simple scheme!<br />Some other facts:<br />Spark plugs: Champion J4C gapped at .030" (J4J is no longer available)<br />Fuel/Oil Mix: 50:1 87 octane gas to TC-W3 rated outboard oil.<br />Lower unit oil: If electric shift, OMC/BRP 'Premium Blend' Only! If manual, OMC/BRP 'HiVis' or SAE 90/80w outboard gearcase oil.
