Model Number Location

I am thinking about buying a mid 70s to early 80s 9.9 or 15 hp Evinrude from a neighbor down the street. I don't know what HP it is because the whole motor is painted camo. I am wanting to find the model number to get more info on the motor, but I am not sure where it is located. Could someone help me as to where the model and serial number are located? There should be a small plate riveted to the mounting clamp, Brent. <br /><br />If it is there you might be able to scrape enough paint off to read the Model number. Also, there is a quarter-size plug on the block that should have the number on it.<br /><br />Good luck.
