model # question

I'm replacing a drive shaft for I believe is a 1971 50hp lark. I don't have the engine in front of me but I have a chance to buy a used replacement. The model # is 50173S serial #E16485 can anyone one tell me what the shaft lenth would be on this model. Thanks

That's a 1971. I had one of those. I wish I could be positive of the model number match, but mine was a longshaft model. Most were, but there was a shortshaft model available I believe.

Thanks WillyBWright, I was told it was I was hping to get the shaft length from the #s with out having to go back and measure the length. thanks for the guick resonse.
