I have a 24ft older pontoon boat. With motor weight is about 2300 lbs. Can a 20 ft float on trailer be modified for this boat. Will only be trailered about 1 mile to the water.

It's possible to have it done safely, but the costs of doing it properly will more than likely be more than the cost of finding a good used trailer designed for your 24 foot pontoon boat.

If one mile is actually one mile and if you have someone walk along side your boat when it is being towed, then depending on the trailer design and capacity along with your carpentry skills it is quite "doable".
