I am new to toon Just purchased my first and am having trouble getting it up to speed. It is an older toon 1982 that has been restored. It has a evenrude 60 hp on it. My question is can anyone tell me any thing about the prop on it. It is a piranha 11 1/2 13c and it seems to me it is to small for the boat. I use it for pleasure and try to pull my kids and grand kids on a tube and the motor only turns 5000 but in a turn it drops to 4500. Any help would be great .

What year motor? What is the speed at 5,000.What size boat.Diameter of the logs?without the rpm and speed you can't tell how well the prop/setup is working.
Typically I wouldn't expect much more than about 22 mph.carefully setup and lightly loaded.

Chances are you're not going to get much if any more out of her. That's a big barge with a small motor and was originally intended to putter around the lake, not pull people on water toys. That doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't, but if you're looking to get improved performance by switching props you're going to be disappointed. 5K at WOT is probably close to your recommended range, but if your manual says otherwise you'll need to decrease the pitch in order to increase the RPMs. The rule of thumb is 200 more for every one inch drop. Good luck.
