Re: Mofo paint

The paint you are looking at is for engines. I would suggest you look for a different product.
This Should wqork better and a quart might work.
Petit suggest that this paint is not for the bottom but if you dont leave the boat in the water for more than a few days at a time it should be fine.

Check out my post on Easypoxy also.

A Quart or two of Rustolium will give you a Good, Reasonably Long Lasting finish......
All for about $20.00...............

Re: Mofo paint

If the boat was already painted, and you're repainting over paint, rustoleum would be one of my first choices, and you wouldn't have to worry about priming. There is almost no paint that will stick to bare aluminum, unless you use a zinc chromate primer. Some people try "etching" with acid (some even use vinegar), instead of the primer. I would think of it in addition to the primer. If I were going to repaint an already painted aluminum boat I would wash it good, spray it with vinegar and let that dry, wipe it down with a clean towel and paint with rustoleum.

Re: Mofo paint

rustoleum makes a special primer for aluminum. You paint the primer on, wait a day or two (the longer the better their tech people told me) and then paint over it with standard rustoleum. I did my Aluminum trailer rims with it and it worked great. The Tech people at rustoleum suggest you take a wire brush to the Aluminum before priming.
