Went skiing today with a mates boat, took the cover off mine to get my skis and its full of mold and all wet under the cover, whats the best way to prevent this? My old boats never suffered from this, cant understand why, they were smaller boats with outboards, this one is a four winns horizon 4.3 omc. I could put a dehumidifier in it but that would drink electric, does anyone know of a fix?

Read this post: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=277388 I would assume your present cover doesn't have a vent? Maybe your old boats had one or the covers didn't fit as good? Good Luck.........Irv964

Re: mold!!

I have always put a drop light and small bulb under my covers when the boat is stored outdoors for any length of time. The little bit of heat keeps things dry and stops condensation. A 40 watt bulb draws little power and will last half a year in most cases.

Re: mold!!

Thanks guys, just read the link and thats interesting tried to contact them but for some reason the contact wont work. I will try again to get in touch. There doesn't seem to be a dealer in the uk though. I suppose running the bilge blower would work in the same way, I wonder if I can rig up a solar panel to it as its allready fitted, it may mean that I have to change the blower motor every now and then.
