my buddy gave me a piece of what looks like fiberglass on one side, and gelcoat on top. looks like it came in sheets. someone gave it to him to replace a fender on his son's motorcycle. he just heated it up with a torch, i'm assuming you can use a heat gun as well, and he shaped it to the existing fender. then spray painted it to match the colour. does anyone know what this product is? he gave it to me to replace a fender on my boat trailer that came off while in transport. now, i haven't done anything with this yet. but i was wondering what exactly this is. he had two pieces and both were different thicknesses.

I used to work with an import company and some of the poly glass parts we got from China were distorted in shipping, we heated them up and reshaped.

I didn't know it could be shaped to that extent if its indeed poly resin.
I kinda doubt it because it will burst into flames if hit with propane flame or aggresive heat sources.

Maybe its a glass reinforced plastic or urethane product.

Sounds like a nice product. Can you get us a brand name?
