I have a Monterey 250cr without AC. The 250cr had optional AC from the factory. My question, Is there an ac discharge port already installed on my boat that is blocked off? I?m looking to install AC and was wondering how the discharge was handled.

Thanks

If your talking about the condensation drain, most drain into the bilge which is then pump over the side.

If your talking about the actual discharge of circulating water going through the AC then the hole wouldn't be there. It would be located above the water line and would use a nylon fitting.

Now you will also need a thru hull fitting on the bottom of the hull, ball valve, sea strainer and water pump.

I'm talking about the discharge for the circulating ac water. There are already several threw hull fitting above the water line. I never really checked to see where the all came from. There are lots of fittings on the side of the boat. I can't imagine I need to drill another one.

all of the existing holes are EASY to figure out.... MUCH easier than installing an a/c system... you have drains for sinks, bilge pumps, maybe anchor locker drains, etc.... they are generally near the thing they are draining.

If the boat has not already had an a/c system you WILL need to drill for the discharge... do NOT try to T intxampleo an existing discharge unless you like the idea of your boat sinking.... Example: you T into the galley sink drain, you get an obstruction in the thru hull and the sink begins overflowing.

It gets it's own thru-hull

My 250 Sundancer also had AC as an option. On my boat there are no extra thru-hulls for an AC discharge. And I agree you don't want to tie into an existing one. On my boat you can see in front of the motor where two pads were installed at the factory for adding AC. I would check that your boat has these, but I suspect it probably does.

Even in the cabin the vent was installed in the fiberglass galley unit to run the duct work to the v-berth.

No Title

After looking at my boat compared to other for sale with AC I noticed that I'm missing or don't have the threw hull fitting for AC

And don't buy those cheap nylon thru-hull fitting. Monterey boats uses stainless for their thru hull fittings.
Keep it the same.
