Re: Montgomery Wards Sea King???

That is a 1946-1948 5hp outboard, made by Gale, a division of OMC. It will be virtually identical to the 5hp Johnson or Evinrude 5 hp models made just after WW2.

Parts are pretty tough to find for these models, unfortunately, since even Sierra Marine doesn't make them, and they're long out of the Johnnyrude dealer parts lists.

You have an oldie, there. They're nice old motors if they're running right, but the parts situation makes them a little hard to repair.

CAtransplant is right on. It's a 1947 Gale Sea King, made for Mont. Ward. Gale was the generic mfg. division of Evinrude/Johnson up into the 60's. Good motors. Parts can be hard to come by from the usual suspects/sources, but us old iron fanatics generally have a few to check out. Good news is the ignitions are tough and relatively trouble free...probably just need to clean/regap the points plugs to get spark back. Impellers are also available, other than that it needs a clean fuel system, some fresh fuel and open water. Have fun with it and check out these links for parts sources:
http://www.pfs-ware/Olliesboard and the Ask A Member board at http://www.aomci.org
