I have a 1986 Bayliner with a volvo 275 outdrive in it. This winter I rebuilt the tilt motor and all was well. Now all of a sudden it doesnt want to work. The relys just click both up and down. Motor runs as I made a jumper wire. so I have no clue as to what is causing this. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on with it and how to keep it in check? Seems like every time I turn around it stops working. 1 day it will wor the next it wont

Thanks
Matt

Re: Moody Tilt :(

Sounds like you need to start checking wiring connections and finding out where the power stops when the relays click and nothing moves.
Could be a bad fuse, bad ground, bad relay, bad motor, bad ___(fill in the blank)___
Do you have a wiring diagram to follow?

Re: Moody Tilt :(

I did a little work on the boat today and found this. Checking with a volt meter at the relays I have 13.88 Volts. If I push the up I have 13.87 Volts at the motor. If I push down I have 13.87 Volts at the motor. So I am guessing my motor is bad? Is there anyway to check these without taking it somewhere?

Thanks
Matt
