im new to boats. ive been looking at used boats lately and found moomba boats seem to be reasonably priced. i dont want to spend more than 15k. id like to get a boat no older than 98. are these good boats for wake boarding? any other brand or model suggestions welcome

Re: moomba wake boats?

the outback and outback v are more or less ski boats that can pull a wakeboarder. the other boats in the line are more dedicated wake boats. I personally prefer a mobius wake to an x-star even, just a little bit softer and easier on the body if you aren't pro level. They all use a standard 350 CI powerplant/drivetrain.

Very solid boats and quite a bit cheaper than most of their competitors. My only suggestion, based on the fact you said you are new to boats, is to make sure you want an inboard. You have an additional set of headaches with an inboard bowrider compared to an I/O. You have to be more careful in shallow water, and beaching it in some areas is impossible, your running gear will hit before the bow touches bottom.
