Mooring cover cleaning?

My mooring covers are getting grubby and mossy around the edges. I want to wash them with a pressure washer but I’m afraid I might ruin the water resistance. I’m not sure if it is sunbrella material or not. I’d like to get more years out of it if I can.

Any thoughts?

Ayuh,.... Take it to a laundromat with Huge washers, 'n wash it in one,......

Then stretch it out, 'n spray it with Scotch-gard, or pure silicone to renew it's water repellance,...

I just did the same with my cover and it turned out great. I used 303 Fabric Guard.

Has anyone else found 303 Fabric Guard is good for one season? I'm wondering is there a better product?

Just because the water doesn't bead doesn't mean it's not protected. After a rain check under the cover, is it dry? If wet time to get to work. The waterproof treatments I have used are all only good for 3 or 4 seasons in my experience. Including a few bottles of 303 that I was given by this forums sponsor, Gold Eagle I think. I am going to do the same thing asap. I take mine to the car wash, clean the concrete floor and give it a spray and scrub then rinse. This was discussed sometime ago here. Someone suggested a brush on coating of some kind, anyone remember exactly what product? My cover took 4 cans or more of spray on Scotch guard some years ago, expensive and really didn't stay on well. 303 is the best I have used so far. Like I said just because water doesn't bead off the cover doesn't mean it's not protected. This year 3 for 303.

most products only last 6 months.... you have to maintain your canvas, which includes re-water-proofing every season.

I don't do it every season Scott. If it isn't wet on the underside after a good downpour it isn't leaking. I will touch it up where water seems to pool regularly. I've been lucky maybe, about time.

So I went to the laundromat and it shrunk a bit. Fortunately I can still get it snapped on to the buttons. But it looks like the buttons on one of my “used- to-fit” button up shirts.
