Mooring lines rubbing my stern!

G'Day,

I have noticed the stern lines rubbing the gelcoat on the stern cleats for a while when in the berth and even worse when the stern anchor is deployed.
Has anybody suffered the same issue? How did you deal with it?
I am considering a stainless rubbing strip but it would need to look good as well as doing a good job

That's your best solution. Sometimes I think boat builders never test their products!

Can you tie off on the opposite cleat? Cross tying your lines involves port cleat tied to starboard side dockage.

When deploying stern anchor can you make a bridle (running a line from cleat to cleat) and tie the anchor line to the middle of the of the bridle line?

Good Luck!

Thanks Sasto,
I cross tied my previous boat, but this one has a massive boarding platform that I figure is there to be used not covered in constantly moving mooring lines. (bloody trailer boat operators can't read no wash signs over here)
The trouble with cross tying in a marina is kids... and big kids that drink too much red cordial.

I have commissioned a pair of SS plates that will be fitted to the stern roughly the same length as the cleats.
I will post a photo when I have them fitted.
