Need to redo the old trailer this spring.
some pictures in this gallery
http://houndsong1.netfirms.com/robdar/gallerystuff/boat%20gallery/HydraSportAeroCobrarestore/index.html

Trailer is still in fairly good shape ( for an 87 trailer) and while I am not looking for showroom new, I would like to freshen it up a bit...
I am thinking about using this
http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=1523&familyName=Hammerite+Rust+Cap+%22Smooth+Finish%22+Cans

or this....

http://www.zerorustusa.com/

I got prices for taking it in and having it blasted and painted professionally ( no equip or place to do THAT here at home) and WELL....we can just forget THAT!

Anyone ever used this kind of paint?
What do you think???

I have used the hammertite and it dull's very fast.

There is no magic solution but if you have rust take a look at the POR coatings...... I see snow in the pictures...... is the trailer "Boxed" steel? Get some oil inside that box so it will subdue the rust from the inside.

If the trailer is in good shape you can sand it prime and use automotive paint.

If it is properly prepped and painted rust will not be an issue.

thanks fellas...
Rustoleum huh? hmmm....seems like an obvious solution. Rustoleum should have more colors as well.

No it is not a box frame. It is C channel...so that is not a problem.
