More fuel gage questions

I have a 1997 Maxum Cuddy with a 5.7l Replacement engine. I have had the boat about 7 yrs and have more question on the fuel gauge.

The gauge reads about 1/4 past full when Full, and is empty when at 1/4. Don't ask how I know this.
Best as I can tell the gauge and sender are original. The gauge and sender work but...

Is there a way to adjust the gauge so it reads correctly. Full at full and E when empty?

You might could adjust the float in the tank but since it is 7 years old I would replace it.

I would verify that the correct sender is installed. My guess is either the sender is incorrect or the gauge is toast.

Re: More fuel gage questions

Gauges themselves are rarely the issue. Testing procedures for the gauge, the sender and the wire connecting the two have been discussed over and over and a diagram is included in those discussions (over 50 of them). Use the search feature or just scroll down and you will find a recent discussion. The gauge is not adjustable. The float arm can be bent or the float itself can be repositioned on some float arms. But all of that adjustment accomplishes nothing if the float is fuel soaked and it can't float.
