More Motorguide w55 issues

I have a Motorguide w55 wireless trolling motor that is about a year old. Ever since it was new it made a lot of news when steering or turning , a sound a like it was working too hard or grinding on something. Is this typical for these motors?

Hmm,my buddy has two,one makes a squeek at the lower unit,the other has lost a tooth on a gear?,it comes to a spot when I have to help it turn past that spot manually,maybe from hitting rocks?

I have two of them. One makes a little more noise than the other, but wouldn't call it a grinding noise. Maybe make a video with sound to provide to MG tech support?

Its off of the boat which is stored for the winter when i do get it out I will post a video.I know its not going to be whisper quiet but it seems to be louder than necessary.Just thought it was normal for this model but after reading about all of the complaints I decided to ask around here.

If by chance an Authorized Service Center is near you, might consider having them evaluate it before your boating season begins.
