More Power from a little friend??

I have one of those little Merc inline 4 cyl engines (ford block) 200 and something CI wit a single 2 barrel carb. <br /><br />The only thing I have done to it was to convert the ignition to electronic. I want to get more horses out of the little thing but cannot find any upgrades anywhere. <br /><br />Anyone have any ideas to get a few more ponies out of a little horse??<br /><br />How hard would it be to put a bigger better engine in??

If you've got a 470 Merc.(Merc. Block, with a Ford Head )<br />You can find a 4bbl. Manifold,+ Carb for it.....<br />That's the Only Up-grade I've Ever Seen......<br /><br />

How hard would it be to put a bigger better engine in??

I have a 500 CI Blown Keith Black motor that you could put in!!

Nope it's just a little 145 HP 200+ ci, Ford Block I was told. I was just hoping someone saw some performance stuff for these. I know it's not very likely.<br /><br />I'll take that 500 Keith Black Motor for my jet boat

Mercruiser has Never used a Ford 4cyl. Block......<br />But, as stated above, They Did do a motor All Their Own, which Was,<br /> a 470 Merc.(Merc. Block, with a Ford Head )<br />And, the 4bbl. carb. is the Only Up-grade I know of.......

when fuel is over $2.00/gal, u will be happy u<br />have that lil' gas miser...
