More water leaks... yay!

I have a steady drip from the raw water intake hose where it connects to the inner transom housing (just below the steering lever). My first lazy attempt to fix it (tighten the hose clamp) didn't work, it still leaks. Suppose the next step is to pull the hose, check for cracks, clean up any rust/debris on the casting, and reinstall it. Any other advice? Have you seen water leaks like this before?

The bushing the hose runs in seals the hose to the gimble plate. Bushing may have started to deteriorate.

It appears to be leaking from the end of the rubber hose where it slides over the intake pipe on the transom housing.

Possible corrosion or hose deterioration. Remove and clean

If the hose is ok, look for bend, crack, or pinhole in the tube the hose clamps to.

Depending on the age of you boat, the raw water barb fitting on the transom might be plastic so corrosion on the fitting may not be your leak sealing problem. With age and multiple clamp tighting the hose will become deformed and will develop a small tear on the outer edge of the clamp. Replacing the steel reinforced hose is you best course of action. Plus, replacing this hose will prevent your boat from sinking. Important to note, this hose can only be replaced when the boat is out of the water. Saw your thread about problem with your old Lowrance 3400 depth finder. Looking for a used black box for mine. Do you still have the parts to yours? Let me know. Thank
