I want to make sure I use the correct procedure for riser gaskets. My 99 5.0GL uses a 3863191 (metal) riser gasket.

Here is where it gets confusing - there are 2 procedures I have found.
1. The instructions say use NO sealants, compounds, or anything else.

HOWEVER,

2. VP Service Bulletin Group 25-1, Number 16, Version 01 ---DATED 04-2010 ------- says to use a copper based gasket compound. It says this procedure has been implimented in production as of April 2010.

I am truly unsure which is the most recent instruction for installation. Can anyone help?

Use the spray copper coat. That is the latest information. Look at the date on the instructions. It may just be an older gasket set. Same gaskets, just outdated instructions.
