I have a 1985 Johnson 150HP GT motor on my boat. The boat has been in storage in a barn covered up for about 6 years. When it got "parked" the carbs needed cleaning and I had removed them, but otherwise motor has always run great. Things happen, bought a house, had two kids, and boat has sat for 6 years. Finally I'm ready to get back to fishing and I'm fixing to get the motor running again. Besides rebuilding the carbs what else would you guys recommend doing to the boat since it has sat so long? Thanks for your help.

Re: Motor been sitting for 6 years

that's the best starting point, along with new fully charged battery,, water pump service (impeller). changing lower unit lube, and installing new gaskets on the drain and fill plugs ( #1 cause of water)
