This is my first post on the board but have been visiting for quite a while now. LOTS of priceless info here.
I have a 1993 Bumble Bee Pro Vee 200 with a 1993 225hp Evinrude Vindicator. The motor was rebuilt and power pack replaced in August 2014 to the tune of $4200.00. Now, as of April 2016 the motor is blown again and I have decided to purchase a newer, more efficient motor for the boat. I have searched on the internet for two days now, calling around to boat shops pretty much in all states that surround Tennessee looking for a 200 or 225 Evinrude with a 20" shat in the 2000 to 2008 year model range and have had no luck. It seems that there are more Yamaha's than anything with a few (2) Mercury's. I know with the limited info provided and without seeing the boat, an exact amount cant be determined. My question is approximately how much $$$, in addition to the cost of the motor, am I looking at to switch form the Evinrude set up to a Yamaha or Mercury set up. I have heard everything in the world talking to my buddies, that's why I came here for real information.

Thanks in advance,
Andy
