Motor capacity on pontoon

Hey all just picked up a 18 foot riviera cruiser. Looked for a plate indicating motor capacity but it must have been removed. I also just picked up a 35 and 85 horse motor. I think the thirty five horse motor would fit well. But I'm curious if the 85 would be to much.

Yes, the 85 would be too much. Barges that size generally max out around 50-60 horses.

Agree, the 85 is probably too big for the transom.
