Hey everyone,

I know this will sound dumb but I gotta ask as I need to get my motor runnung.

I had an Evinrude 40 hp engine, the connector was 2 simple "tubes" in one connector on the fuel hose. I know it required a fuel oil mix in the fuel tank.

I was given a Johnson Seahorse 18 that supposedly had $300.00 of work done to it about a year ago. I know I dont trust "supposedly".

My question is on the Johnson there is a connection with 3 "tubes" for the connector, one indicates fuel the other indicates air, not sure what the other one is for.

The question is: are these the same connectors on the fuel hose or is the Johnson a different connector from the Evinrude?

Thanks

Your "tubes" count is confusing, but reading between the lines, all the 40hp motors have one hose. The other thing is a retaining pin to hold the connector on.

It would seem that your 18 has a dual hose pressure tank setup. Again, the third thing is a retaining pin. The motor pumps air down through the air side to presurize the tank, which forces fuel up through the second hose to the motor.

Evinrude and Johnson are the same, size for size and year for year.
