I have an 1975 electric start Evinrude 25HP and the water intake is just above the prop. I am looking for an attachment that I can hook up the garden hose and flush the motor. My Johnson 135HP had the intakes on both sides of the lower unit and I had "muffs" to get water to it. I have searched and found one unit that looks like it might work but it is specified for 15HP and less. Setting up a barrel, filling it with water and then emptying it when done is a pain and reuses the water over and over. Does anyone know who makes something that would work or an idea of what I can rig up?

The only commercially made flushing attachment for that motor was called a Flushette, and they stopped making them about 40 years ago., Some people have fashioned a plate and hose fitting that replaces the long narrow bypass plate on the side of the gearcase with varying success. The barrel is still the best way unless you are lucky enough to find a Flushette.

Thanks for the proper name of the unit. A google of it turned up a good picture of it and a possible alternative in a Honda part.
I will see if I can find the Honda part locally and if not I will fashion something along the lines of the Flushette ---
