1 the motor isnt going the top speed like before

2 the motor last 2 times i took the boat out off the water after going full speed for a boat trip. the motor has an off yellow oil sluge all around the inner exhaust port of the prop.

the motor is a 1980 evinrude 15 hp

the gas is from feburary could that be my problem the gas is to old.

Re: motor having a oil sluge

Check to make sure you have spark on BOTH plugs. Yellow oil could mean gear lube, sludge from the motor would be black, you make have leaking lower unit seals or the drain/vent screw plastic gaskets are leaking.

Re: motor having a oil sluge

thanks to bktheking

i check the motor prop seal and drain plug and they where leaking so i just got everything back together with new seals and now there is no more sluge in the prop when i took out this afternoon. i changed the fuel and lower unit oil with fresh stuff and for the throttle it was sticking half not going to full so i grease that now i got my speed back too.

thanks jeremy
