hello...I have a CMC pt-130 after market tilt and trim on my 115 johnson....doesn't seem to trim up enough to get me up on the water good.....from the driver seat to the back of the boat is still in the water....just wondering if motor height could be my problem...if I need to lower or raise?....the trim unit has the proper amount of fluid and I have installed new trim motor that seems to be working fine.....any help would be appreciated........

Re: motor height

Not alot of info to go on here.

Did it trim the motor up far enough in the past?
Is the outboard running on all cylinders?
Does the motor have the proper shaft length?
Where is the cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of the hull?
Is the prop cavitating?
Is the cmc unit traveling the full 65*? That should lets the prop out of the water.

Re: motor height

yes the outboard is running on all 4 cylinders.....the cavitation plate is higher than the very bottom of the boat.....the boat has a V shape to it but plate is higher than the bottom of the boat in the middle which is its lowest point.....

Re: motor height

your shaft is too short... you need to have that plate even with the botom of the boat. the prop isnt getting enough bite. sell that cmc trim unit and buy a jack plate

Re: motor height

Or find yourself a junked out lower unit that you can scavage the 5" spacer, shift shaft, Water tube and driveshaft out of. That's only if the gears were the only thing messed up in it...
