Motor keeps dying

Hello all
I have a 1986 mercury inline six and the serial no. Is 0A986322. It run great for a good 300 yd and then the motor just die out like it ran out of gas. It will start right up and go another 300 yd. I rebuild the fuel pump and replace the primer bulb. Gas filters are all clean. Need help. It time to go bass fishing

Or sounds like the Carb is having some issues. Have you checked it for gunk?

Test run with a " known to be good " portable tank and hose.

Yes clean carburetors and put in new floats. I will try and portable tank

I guess you have to reprime the engine to start her up again? Does the bulb feel full or pretty much empty of fuel.

If it feels full then I think you need to revisit the fuel pump, if it feels empty there is a problem upstream of the bulb. The portable tank trick should confirm this.
