I am new to I/O drives and I would like to get an idea of what others do to clean their motors. I am not referring to flushing the drive/motor but actually cleaning the outside of the motor. Do you general hose down the motor after each use after it cools) or once in while? Also, I have been using T9 as a protectant/sealant and I am wondering what others may be using.

Any other suggestions or input for maintenace after each use?

Re: Motor Maintenance

Wash with engine degreaser every now and then and rinse with water. T9 is good and so is LPS3. WD40 works ok but you have to use it more.

Re: Motor Maintenance

I normally just wipe off motor with a old rag then wipe on rust check to protect against corrision, I usally do this in the fall when I winterize.,
