Motor running rough, suggestions please.

Hello all,
Long story short.......motor been sitting for a few weeks with no activity, had regular unleaded fuel in it. When to the lake and started it up, sounded rough at idle. Got it out on the water and gave it some gas...sputtered for a while and then stalled. Had a little bit of a hard time starting it back up and finally started. Got the boat up on plane and the motor still sounded rough...gave it some more gas and really ran rough. At time it would slip into a perfect hum for a few seconds and run perfect but then would go back to running rough.

Took it home, drained the fuel tank and found a little bit of water at the bottom. Refueled with super unleaded and cleaned the plugs. Started it up in my drive way and "still" sounded rough....accelerated some more and the motor would run high then low, high then low a second at a time....just kept doing that at higher speed would never smooth out like it used to. Suggestions?

Clean the rest of the fuel system.
Carbs or injectors, lines,filters, and pumps

Still having problems with motor. The motor starts fine and idles fine...sounds smooth. But as soon as I accelerate it in neutral and it reaches 3000 rpms it starts to rev up and down the more I accelerate the faster it rev's up and down.....almost like it starts to miss at 3000 rpms.

I've checked all spark plugs and are good, flushed out all fuel lines and replaced the high and low fuel filters. I'm kinda stumped on this one. Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this? Any help would be appricaiated.

Just checked the timing at idle 1000 rpms it is set right at the mark between the one and zero. Is this right?

Guess no one here is a Suzuki fan. I've gotten very little response concerning this issue with my motor. I tried the forum www.thehulltruth.com and they were VERY,VERY helpful with very little response time. They were really great and resolved my problem.

And I thought this forum was the best....kinda disappointed.

same problem with my dt150, from what ive researched..might be the neutral safety switch,search for that in suzuki forums,theres alot on the subject..hope this helps.
