i know most of the problems regarding cooling is overheating, not underheating! my 96 225 runs too cool! at idle it rarely ever gets over 115. when i get up in rpms it does warm up some but never over 130- i replaced the t-stats and there was no change (143degree). one guy says its the poppet valve, another says no get another set of t-stats. i do alot of slow fishing and i know that the engine is not performing at its optimum at the lower temp. any ideas???

The poppet valve may be stuck OPEN

While you are there make sure that the poppet valve SEAT is fully seated into the block, if not fully seated it may not seal completely.
