I have a 1996 Johnson 225 Oceanrunner. When I go at high speed the motor seems to go out of gear and just rev up. I runs fine at lower speeds. It seems it was doing it before as it planed out then would be fine. But as of last night it was doing it every time I tried to go fast. The only way it would run was at low speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You probably have a spun prop. That means that the bushing has slipped between the inner and outer hub. Mark the prop as shown and take it for a run. If the mark moves in relationship to the cotter pin, you will need a prop shop to repair it.

Sounds like you spun a prop hub, do you have an extra prop? If so put it on and see if the problem goes away.
