Motor Shroud

My boat doesn't have a shroud around the motor and it is real loud, any ideas on how to make one. There isn't any deck behind the back rail, the rail goes right to the back of the deck. It's a 40 hp with tilt.

To clarify, there is no hood on the engine or you want to build something around the engine?

If you don't have a hood look an Ebay and you should be able to pick one up cheap if you want to build a shroud around the engine you would have to get pics up so we can see what we are wotrking with to gove you any ideas.

Thanks for the reply, it has a hood, it's just to loud. want to build something that surrounds it on three sides.

Might benefit with a sundeck. I know you said the railings end before the motor mounts but you might be able to customize it. Then you decrease the sound AND have a sundeck. Somewhat of a slight bonus.
