Motor starting trouble

I got my Merc. 9.8 110 running ,but it starts hard once running it's fine.
ser.no 3612603 Point gap is at .018.

Does the bulb get hard when you pump it up. Check filter and screens also if it has the airator on the gas shut off,it may need attention

Thanks for the reply I did at one point check the filter the bulb does get hard it seems to not get fuel right away after 5 or 10 pulls it will pop then push in choke then it will run all day some time if its started right away no problems. thanks

Have you cleaned the carb?

what's compression?

Got lots of spark?

The local marina said compression was good. I did not ask what it was ,I have white bluish spark but what would I do to clean carb? I really dont want to take this apart as it is running now can I use a cleaner that you put in gas?

I don't know what to tell you, don't take it apart and clean it then.

If you do want to take it apart get spray carb cleaner, disassembly, clean and wash with water and blow it out.
