I currently have a 1983 25hp Chrysler remote steer on my boat. I am about to buy a 1986 35hp Mercury to upgrade it with. The motor has the throttle controls and steering controls, but the controls are hooked up to a pontoon style steering console. I was wondering if i could hook the chryslers steering cable to the mercurys steering arm? The cables currently on my boat are all teleflex cables. Would this work or will i need to take all the stuff off the pontoon style controls and rig to my currebt steering console? Thanks for help in advance!

Re: Motor Steering Q

Teleflex should have the adapter kit to adapt to your engine available if you need one but if you talking about a tiller handle when you use the term steering handle no you can not hook there.
