Hi

I have 2 pcs VP AQ205A in my boat and they start both fine and run with out problem for app 1 hour at slow speed (River system) and then the STB motor suddenly stop and cannot be restartet ( the other one continue without problem and they are supplied from the same tank). When the motor is cooled down then it start and run for some time and if I wait to the next day then it start without problem and stop after app 1 hour.
When I try to restart it it smell of gasoline. there is maybe a single fire but then dead ( starter running OK)
Have checked the sparkplugs and they look good and like on the other motor.
Some good ideas to solve the propblem - can it be the ingignation coil which get warm and then stop working or is the problem in the maniforl gasket?
Last year there was no problems but it start from the first trip this year

Look forward to your help
/Jens

I would suspect an ignition problem. Yes, maybe the coil, but the rotor in the distributor could also be the issue here. I have seen some rotors that developes great resistance when hot, and causing the engine not to completely cut out, but to run terrible.

Maybe you should try and switch parts from one engine to the other, until the fault moves to the other engine.
