motor swap 85 to 120

my friend wanted me to post this question.will my 89-120 swap over to his 77-85hp? with little probs? will the cables and harness work ? thanks

The bolt pattern for the transom will be identical, as will the main electrical connection (big round red plug). The trim & tilt connection is an open question, depending on what you have for a control box with the 85 - do you have a T&T rocker switch on your control box?

The 2 control cables will be the same. <br />BTW, the 1989 120 looper should be a LOT stronger than the 85...

yes the 85hp does have tnt.
