Motor swap power difference??

I have a 15' bass boat. It had a 40 Mariner that lost a cylinder. I have the chance to buy a 25 Mercury Bigfoot 4 stroke. Would this be a good replacement? I have never ran a 4 stroke engine and was wondering about the power difference. Also are these motors reliable?

Not if you want speed.Between the HP drop and the possible weight gain,I doubt you'll get on plane.

Maybe someone has a similar setup,but that's my impression.

Agreed. If that the 4 cylinder Mariner.. I'd seriously consider fixing it. Those 44ci motors are pure gold.
